This role also requires moments of physical violence.

BEAU: Mid 20’s-Late 40’s, male – “Perhaps the best looking man in Britain,” quite the philanderer. Logical to the point of pessimism. Beau is the type of fellow quite happy with the status quo, no matter what the status quo may be. BRITISH RP ACCENT. This role requires moments of physical intimacy

MARJORIE: Mid 20’s-40’s, – EXTREMELY PREGNANT (8 Months), pragmatic and a tad spicy. Unflappable in every sense of the word. Unless of course, she’s in labor. BRITISH RP ACCENT. This role requires moments of physical intimacy

DIERDRE: 20’s-30’s, – An awfully pretty, “wisp of a thing,” sometimes wise, nincompoop. Gullible is Diedre’s middle name. She’s awfully sweet though, if you like that sort of thing. Surprisingly capable of unexpected clarity and insight. Has an interesting giggle
BRITISH ACCENT (RP/WORKING CLASS). This role requires moments of physical intimacy & moments of physical violence.

RICHARD 30’s-40s male – A “murderous, yet gentle soul.” Born to be half of a soul-mated duo, Richard is hell-bent on finding and keeping his true love (no matter what). BRITISH ACCENT (RP/WORKING CLASS). This role requires moments of physical intimacy.

Directed by Clay Boyce, this razor-sharp production runs June 13–21, 2025, and promises a behind-the-scenes look at the chaos, camaraderie, and comic genius of a 1950s TV writing team.

With a cast packed full of talent, this production features David Kimbrough, Steven Ross, Shawn Reese, Kevin Grohoska, Dakota Fowler, Robin Wallace, Holt Thomas, Leah Tkacik, and Thomas Robinson. South City Theatre receives grant from the Alabama State Council on the Arts

South City Theatre has received a $22,300 Creative Places Arts Facilities grant from Alabama State Council on the Arts to fund improvements and additions to their sound equipment.

The Creative Places Arts Facilities program strengthens Alabama’s creative economy by providing grants for the construction, renovation, restoration, or enhancement of arts facilities across the state. Public funding, through a special appropriation from the Alabama State Legislature, makes these grants possible and is essential for fostering arts, culture, and community growth.

With these funds, South City Theatre will acquire a sound system for travel shows and improvements to their in-house sound system, with the goal of improving the experience for their patrons.

“We’ve needed to expand our current modest sound system for many years, but the cost has been prohibitive. With this generous grant from Alabama State Council on the Arts, we can purchase the necessary equipment, including microphones and speakers, to give quality audio experiences for all our performances, no matter where we perform,” said Donna Williamson, Artistic Director.

Installation of the equipment and training are expected to be complete by the fall of 2025, with plans to utilize the new equipment this May.

This grant, awarded by the Alabama State Council on the Arts, enables South City Theatre to reach new audiences, foster community development, provide the highest quality programming, and demonstrate the importance of arts as a key component for quality of life in Alabama.
