South City Theatre will be closed in July for renovations.

We will open up again in August with THE ODD COUPLE and Adult Acting Classes with Alan Gardner.

Auditons for DEARLY DEPARTED are listed below.

Audition notice for Dearly Departed, directed by George Scott

Auditions for Dearly Departed, a southern comedy, will be Sunday, August 3 at 5:00pm.
Call-backs will be Monday, August 4 at 7:00pm. 

All roles are open and the cast requires 4 men & 6 women (ranging in ages from 20-60.)

No monologues will be required as we will have selected readings from the script.
Performance dates will be the weekends of Oct 3 – 25.

  • Tickets for Mainstage productions are $15 (Student/Senior/Group tickets [10+] are $12)
  • This season offers SIX Mainstage plays with well known titles (or authors.)
  • Season tickets (for Mainstage plays) are $80 or $72 for students/seniors and can be purchased by calling 621-2128.
  • This season all seats will be RESERVED SEATING.
  • Unclaimed (unpaid) reservations are released at 7:50pm (1:50pm matinee.)
  • Unclaimed (paid or seasons) seats are released at 7:50pm (1:50pm matinee.)
  • There are NO REFUNDS for unclaimed seats.
  • The theatre is available for rental this year for banquet events and touring shows.  Call 621-2128.

Directions TO South City Theatre

SCT is located just off Hwy 31 South (in Alabaster)within Cloverdale Commercial Park.

Take I-65 South from Birmingham.  Exit at #238 (Alabaster) and turn left (onto Highway 31) at the traffic light.  Drive back over the overpass bridge (passing Colonial Mall) and continue south on Hwy. 31 for 2.3 miles until you pass a traffic light at the junction of highway 26.   Cloverdale Drive is the next street on the left.  South City Theatre is the 3rd warehouse on the left.
